 PLEASE HELP TO GET THESE DOGS TAKEN AWAY FROM THIS WOMAN!

I am SO angry with the Alberta SPCA and our useless court system! A 'woman' in central Alberta was found with 111 dogs on her property, who were starving, some of them had died and the other dogs were living off of the corpses. She claimed that she didn't know dogs would eat dead dogs... well duh, they will if they are STARVING TO DEATH you stupid.... ARRRRRRRGH!!
Anyway the sentence was given out yesterday on the news and now I'm even madder. The maximum fine is $20,000, but they 'took her finacial situation into account', she isn't allowed to own any animals EXECPT for 2 DOGS THAT ARE STILL IN HER POSSESSION!! They interviewed her last night and asked her how she would be treating them.. she said like dogs how do you think, there was nothing wrong with the others! They have given her this 'sentence' under the assumption that her only crime was having too big of a heart, that she took in all these dogs out of love. I saw NO love for those dogs in this.. cow.. during that interview!
Of the 111 dogs, most have been put down because of illness, a few have been adopted, there are more at the shelters but they are very likely to have to be put down as well.
Now, what I need is to bombard these fools with emailsto get these dogs OUT of her possesion! The Alberta SPCA is one of the first targets because it's mostly their fault! I'm not 100% sure who else to email, but I'm looking into it.

Before you get too angry with the Alberta SPCA, you need to realize that it is the court system, not the SPCA to blame here. A similar case happened in BC up near 100 Mile House (not as many animals, but abuse as well as neglect was happening) and the courts treated the whole thing far too lightly. The way it was reported in the press made it look like the SPCA had backed down from the situation - but they hadn't! My stepmom was very active with the SPCA in Salmon Arm at the time and all the branches through the interior were doing their utmost to try to get these people hit with a lifetime ban from keeping any animals!
So, to be more effective, e-mail and write your member of the legislature! Do not send petitions as individual letters actually carry far more weight....

i would like to help i live in hamilton ont and there is this girl doingthe sme thing but no one will do anything about it
she had like 5 pit bulls that are as mean as they come do get me wrong i had a pitty for 8 years but anyways send me the article and i will see what i can do to help you

I wouldn't say do not send petition Gimli? I say help any way you feel comfortable to at least show Gov't you care! And to show that everyone can come tgether to actually get this passed finally! Alot of people are working on a legitimate Petition that MP's have allready told us is very important to have signatures on Petition as well as letters as MP's to show support, they're counting on public support on this particular petition, and have many MP's hoping for the best w/ it as well, so I say, do whatever method you choose to show support, more info on me, as U probably know, well that's my 2 cents, thanx

i firmally beileve taht the worst thing to happen to this planet is THE HUMAN RACE!!!!!!!!! most of us are good but those that are bad and give very little protection to our animals wild or domestic are the ones who seem to be in power and if they are not, get off with a sentence that is such BU**SH*T, makes you want to hit someone really hard. that is what i had to say. have a good one. ~~Laura~~

I agree 110%, except for the last sentence "they are like us too".. they are not... if they were, they'd be heartless and mean. there is a HUGE problem with this world.. humans... in general, i dislike humans to the largest degree!! and would give whatever it took to help an animal in need.

Just goes to show ya on how sick ppl really can be. I hope she didn't have any kids, but then, she probably did the same thing to them to. I'm not laughing!! They will kill an animal for hurting or killing a human, but they will only slap a human on the leg for doing the sme as an animal. Go figure!!?? Who can answer that, literally??!! My opinion, I think she should be put down like a dog and let the the animals live. But then, that's my open minded free opinion in this sick and twisted political world. And I'm sticking to it.

How can she say she loves dogs and then have so many that weren't being cared for. Dead, diseased, OMG....Humans are animals too! Unfortunately humans seem to be able to "screw" up almost anything they touch. My husband always says "dogs are his favorite humans", and as far as I am concerned there are two kinds of people.....Animal owners and Animal People. I'm an animal people. I don't just own my dog and lizard, they are my buddies. I could NEVER abuse them or any other creature. Ooops I lie, I do swat mosquitoes.....sorry.

How the heck was that lady able to get that many dogs in her possession before anyone noticed. Was she just able to trick every other pet owner in alberta she had none. Didn't her neighbors notice when she got to uhh 20. I don't know how rural she was but I knwo there are even laws that people in the country are only allowed 4. Where was dog control? Gezze they are always knocking on my door for one thing or another.

That seriously infuriates me when I hear these types of stories! Like what the hell?! No wonder we have so many cases of animal cruelty around the world because our screwed up justice systems do s@#t to stop them! But yet if an animal dares turns on a human it has to pay the ultimate price by being put to death! It really sickens me on how this world works. I would seriously love to get my hands on that sick, twisted woman. I would teach her a thing or two!
