The following is an email I received yesterday about 3 dogs that need a new home:
My name is Michelle Tondevold and I am looking for some help in rehoming three dogs. 1 Mastiff male (8 yr old), 1 Presa Canario female (spayed, 4 yrs) and 1 Cane Corso male (4 yrs). All have been home raised and loved, are stable wonderful pets. They are in the middle of a divorce situation and so the husband has had to move out with a friend and the dogs are not allowed in the house. So these poor dogs are brought into the shed ever couple hours for a warm up and then back out they go to the chain on the tree. If I was in the town these dogs are in I’d do my best to help them, but unfortunately I am about 2 hours away. I am helping the neighbor help these dogs.
If there is anything you can do to help, we would greatly appreciate it. And so would the dogs and their owner!

Hi Lynn, welcome to Petsmo, glad you found us. Nice speaking with you earlier. Good Luck in helping Michele who's trying to help out her neighbour and her Dogs. Positive thoughts guys and any suggestions or ideas that might help gratefully appreciated.

Shouldn't the SPCA be involved here? These are all short haired dogs, one senior, and they are left out in the cold weather like this? Even a shelter, right now, would surely be a better choice right now. Wish I could help.

I'm not sure where the dogs are, but I know where the phone number is from, and there's a great non profit animal rescue in the town called CritterAid - Dog House Division..they may be able to help out by at least finding foster homes for them?
I'll petmail you the contact info for them..

Hi there Its David's owner. the Cane corso Senior. His mate Pressa Canerio named TIA found a wonderful home in Kelowna. Unfortunately his Son SPIKE had to be put down as he was just too aggressive.
David is an absolute DOLL. I enjoy him so much. I will be looking for a Senior cane Corso female in the future. Please keep your eyes and ears open. Picutre is of David

I'm very glad two of them found homes, but sadden that Spike had to be put down :o(

your story absolutely crushes my heart. I have a Cane Corso, her name is Topolina and she is the absolute world to me. I live about 40 minutes north of Toronto and as you know being a fellow Canadian, it gets cold here but not nearly as cold as it does in Edmonton. I am devastated that these people are leaving those dogs outside, I would take them in a heartbeat!!! Since I am so far away I can only make a suggestion, is there anyone you know that has some dog houses or anything that will shelter the dogs from the elements. If they do you could pile up some blankets in there for them to lie on. These dogs do not do well in cold weather. i am so mad at some people, i understand divorce is hard and it sucks but stand up straight like a responsible human being should and take care of those dogs! I know it's not your, or my fault this is happening but please help those dogs! please let me know what happens. David Rocca. my email address is drscripps@gmail.com thanks
