There are terrible terrible people out there. I live at Oak and 70th in Vancouver, and twice we have found antifreeze left out deliberately behind our building. The first time, it was about an ounce in a coffee cup lid. Recently it was about a 1/2 cup in a sour cream container. Please be careful - 2 teaspoons can kill a cat or small dog, 3 can kill a medium size dog. It is a painful and horrible way for a pet to go - and devastating for their people. Some information on Antifreeze

puppyluv- i do remember that and a high number of dogs got sick but only one or two did which is very sad. there was also the meatballs laced with poison that someone was dropping along the sidewalks...when i walk thayer he isnt allowed to eat ANYTHING!!! i always look at the ground when i walk him and i look infront of him just so i have a better chance of stopping him from eating anything he isnt suppossed to like food he may find on the sidewalk. i dont care if someone thinks i am paranoid...i am watching out for the well being of my baby boy thayer!!!

That's awful! I'm so sorry! I can't believe your dad would be so careless and so uncaring about your cat! Sending good thoughts your way!

There are some pretty sick individuals out there who are in dire need of an attitude adjustment towards animals in general and pets in particular. Please be cautious when out jogging with your Pet and watch out for them, the way they watch out for you. **ALWAYS CARRY YOUR DOG'S OWN WATER SUPPLY** **DO NOT LET THEM DRINK FROM FOUNTAINS** **DO NOT LET THEM EAT ANYTHING OTHER THAN WHAT YOU BRING WITH YOU** I don't drink from fountains anywhere, for obvious reasons, so why would I allow my best buddy to do so. Here is a link to the story regarding the recent poisoning of Dogs and wildlife in High Park Toronto: Dogs & Wildlife Poisoned Due to the recent events in the Toronto area, I thought it pertinent to post this press release from the Toronto Police Department regarding the poisoning of Dogs in a local park. Toronto Police Service News Release Public Safety Alert, Potential poisoning of animals in High Park, 11 Division Monday, June 23, 2008 - 12:07 PM 11 Division 416-808-1100 The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a potential poisoning of animals within High Park. Animals and small children are being cautioned until the risk has been eliminated. On Sunday, June 22, 2008, at 4:20 p.m., police received information regarding several sick dogs who had recently visited High Park in the High Park Road/Bloor Street West area. It is reported that: - at least five dogs, in five separate incidents, became seriously ill after visiting the grounds of High Park over the past few days, - one of the dogs has suffered life-threatening internal complications and is not expected to survive, - it is believed that an unknown poisonous substance may have been ingested by the dogs, - the substance may have been in liquid form and may simply have been licked off the grass, There have not been any reported human cases. Animals and small children could be at risk until the City of Toronto completes its investigation If anyone believes their dog or child has become sick after visiting High Park, they should seek medical attention. The public is advised, when visiting High Park, to keep dogs on a leash and closely supervised. Children should not pick up anything off the ground. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-1100, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477), or online at www.222tips.com.

First of all...get her to your Vet, without delay, and have her checked out. If someone is poisoning Pets in your neighbourhood, and you can confirm it through tests with your Vet, then it's time to contact the authorities.

Ditto to all that Robbie wrote. You should also set up a video camera. Evidence is a wonderful thing when you're trying to build a cruelty case.
