Okay this is why I do what I do as a foster mum: When I remember my first memories of a dog experience I was about 4 and I remember the soft fur, the excitment and glee of big wet tongues and the smell of puppy breathe. I don't remember however the color, the size or the breed. Just the simple pleasure of being in that dogs presence. Then later in life I noticed there were certain people in my life acting different around dogs that look different. Little dogs they were like "awwwwe" "how cute", for the bigger clumpsy dogs they were like" hey sport", then there were the stocky built big dogs and these people were like" wow stay away from that dog!" Still till this day I know why this deep human need to hate things that are different and scary. We are scared of the unknown We discourage diversity We encourage conformity We are easely led down the wrong path And as humans We HATE to admit when we are WRONG.... well all those people in my life were all of the above. I was different I am far from the ideal Where ever I go I am stared and ridiculed I relate to the bull breeds Any dog can bite Any dog can hurt All dogs can love, all dogs deserve love WAY TO MANY BULLIES ARE DENIED all of these things. Please think about that before you prepetuate the hate. It hurts I know....Thanks for reading my rant

I agree with you 100%. This is the message that I am trying to tell people. However, some people can not and will not get past their lack of education, ignorance, and predjudice (sp?). It's heart breaking. I sometimes wish that we could all go back to being little children. When we were children we didn't know what hate and discrimination were. When we didn't distinguish between age, race, beliefs (colour, size, breed), etc. Everyone was equal, everyone was a friend and everyone was welcomed and loved. This is the way not only our Bullies should be treated, but mankind in general. Dare I say... it would be a perfect world? That's my rant... And thank you for yours and startig this rant erinlynd.

I think the nicest dog that goes to our local dog park is a pitbull. She's the only dog that doesn't always seem to be causing some kind of trouble but yet people will leave when they see her coming...it's just sad.

As an avid dog fan of all breeds, i'm behind you all the way. a dog is a dog. a dog is like a kid, they learn what they are taught by their humanes, and the experiences they have as they grow.

I had a pit bull named Cindy, she moved out with boys, but she was a character and sensitive too, since then I have rented rooms to people with animals and one couple had a pit bull. No problem at all in fact the pit bull let my rottweiler take her by the leash and go for a little walk. I thought to myself here are to dogs that are playing as if they new each other. A lot has to do with the owners and how they had socialized their pets from puppies.
