I have 2 dogs that compete all the time for attention.
Jake likes to play a lot more than Casey so he will bug her but after a few minutes of chasing each other, she wants to stop and will give a sharp little bark at him to let him know enough is enough.
Jake then will go grab the mat from the back door and drag it all over shaking it to death.

I think you are right! They are sick of being housebound. Today they had a terrible time going outside on that crunchy snow that collapses as soon as they step on it. They were back in a flash after potty duties.

Tina I hate to tell you, but in my experience, bigger dogs tire more easily cuz they have more to move around. From many people I know that have dogs in the lab. family they take around 2-4 years to calm. My friend said her lab who now is like 9 /10 tore walls down in her house, just crazy amounts of energy!! I have 3 terriers and Herman I'll consider large, Phee, medium and Winston small almost itty bitty. and that's how their energy goes. Herman moderate Phee moderate - high, Winston super duper high!! If we aren't playing with Winston he plays with himself. One toy in the mouth and he kicks around another one. Puts things under the couch then tries to get them back. And he'll play with anything hair elastic, paper click microscopic size rock. ANything!!!!

Those are great pics!! I love the crazy eye look!!!!
I have three dogs my oldest "Draco" we like to call her "Gramma Dra" She keeps everyone in line! For the two Dogos when they are out in the yard boy can they rip around soo fast leaping and bounding over any thing. I sware that there as fast as a gray hound when they get going!! Hhehehehe! JK When I come time for summer Oso and Draco will swim the whole time at the lake you will have to tie them out of the water cuz I think if we didnt they would swim them selfs to death.!! Gotti wont go near the water!!

Hey Oso~ I just saw the other day in the store doggie life jackets! lol! Might put an end to both our worries as I too fear Buddy will swim to much and wear out in the deep and I will have to go save him! He is unstopable!! He just LOVES and I mean LOVES to swim!! He is also part chessie so that isnt helping cause they love to swim too!! Filthy lil animals!! he he!!

To ~ Charlie....thanks for clearing up big and lil dog differences! You have such a size variety at your home!! Any swimmers? I don't know if its possible to fizzle Bud out!!!!!!!! we try and try Success so far...not good
He is quite an impressive ball of energy!! yeah! Gotta love Winnie darling!

You need a lifejacket for any dog that has a really long coat - like a Peke! My dad nearly lost miserable Grover when the dog upset the canoe (Dad was leaning over, dealing with his fishing line and Grover jumped to that side of the canoe to see what was going on). My dad had to decide between all his gear that was rapidly disappearing and his dog - who was gamely swimming about 6 inches under the surface! My brother and dad trolled the lake for two days trying to recover some of the gear - no dice.
My sister (the vet) gave my dad a supreme dressing down and sent him lifejackets for his dogs!
They are also a good idea for dogs on commercial boats out on the high seas....

Gintz~ Buddy takes it to the extreme no matter what he does! If hes swimmin he is extreme swimming! I think bout my babies like I would my kid in safety aspects! If I could drown after prolonged swimming so couldnt he! I think its a great idea to have them specially if on a boat!! Which we have and he will be on! If the boat flips i want everyone to stay afloat as I worry when your offshore too far! I just use caution with all things in water~ me dogs or others!

I definitely wasn't disagreeing with you! I should have highlighted the need with regards to certain small breeds - where a lifejacket isn't an option. I would recommend them for all dogs on board boats (especially speed/motor boats), because in an accident you don't always hit the water conscious! Furthermore, their colour and reflective striping make it far easier to rescue a pet if the accident happens at dusk or later......

Even those most adventuresome and waterloving dogs - the retrievers - can benefit from that little piece of safety equipment!

Tina, I'm definitely going crazy here with 4 kids to chase, but it's worth it. Chopper has a system down for when he gets tired. He just runs across the street for a swim and comes back ready for more! I've yet to see him get so tired that he comes back and collapses for a revival slumber. I think he knows that he doesn't have a hope of having that happen.

He's pretty calm inside, except when he wants to play catch with his beloved tennis balls. Once he's got one, there's no letting go of it. I've even jokingly taken him for a walk using the tennis ball in his mouth!

Samantha, well she's a completely different story. She's always chasing after anything that moves. She's getting bigger now (24 lbs), so I'm trying to break her of jumping up on people. She's another one with endless amounts of energy.

Once the canine kids wear us humans out, they start playing with each other. Chopper constantly has her running around the yard, and she's constantly taking him for walks on his leash. She tries her hardest to keep up with him when we play catch with them, but just can't quite run as fast as him yet. They're really cute to watch playing together. She hangs from around his neck, like she's giving him a hug, and he acts like there's nothing on him and gives you a funny look if you laugh. It's quite the sight!

He's teaching her the potty time ropes though. He knows where to go to the washroom, and he knows that she can't quite make it down the hill to join him. She really wants to though. She seems fascinated watching him pee. I don't know if it's because he lifts his leg to pee and she squats, or what it is. A couple times I've had to run and grab her before he's peed on her! hahaha

I'm glad the nicer weather is here though because I can take my clan outside to play and get fresh air. At least with my human kids it wears them out. My canine kids are doing a great job at picking up all the small twigs and branches that fell during the storm.

They used to when Molly was younger,But since Molly hit a year old,They hate eachother.

The other night,Molly got her lip ripped opend, and Lacy her Du claw ripped out.

Lacy has been spayed,Molly will be the 18th of this month,But the fight the other night,Molly came out Alpha female.

Lacy is a Australian Shepherd, and Molly a Newf.

So hopefully this will end,They only seem to get along outside,But in the house NO WAY!
