I totally agree with all of you. who wouldnt on this site??..please let me know i would like to have a word with them. i think i was watching an hour long thing about this on CNN or something. A second to this topic was "BULLY BREEDS"....????. Should all pitbulls be out down? are they just too aggressive? were some questions they asked. i was sitting in my living room with my male roomate and he answered YES to these questions!!!.....WTF?!?!?! i was totally disgusted with his opinion and made my points very clear on why these animals are trained this way. if i had a "bully breed" i guaran-F-n-Tee ya that they would be the most lovable dog you've ever met. and FYI any dog can be raised to be a bully and every dog should be raised to be a lover. the only thing standing in the way of their being this "bully breed" label is the owners of these breeds. Whats really interesting to me is that this Vick guy says he knows personally other NFL players who do the same thing. i havent caught up on this story lately, but if so WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE.... WE WANT NAMES!!!... its very disgusting what this guy has done, but maybe he can be an example to the others in the NFL and elsewhere watching this happen, to have a change of heart. although even if they do theres a lot of work to be done to re train the animals they've corrupted. POOR DOGS...it brings me to tears thinking of these poor animals. And makes Steam come out of my eyeballs from anger of these people.

Right on LMD. Thanks for helping keep this thread going as the more people who read it, the more people we might have help eradicate this type of behaviour, even if in a small way. You do what you can to educate people about current events in the Pet world but there's always two sides to every coin. Some poeple (like all of us Pet Lovers) could never imagine doing anything to hurt a Dog, and then there's those who say they are only Dogs and try to justify these heinous actions. The passion this thread has stirred up is only a fraction of the outrage posted around the world, but we will continue to do what we can to let them know how we feel. You guys *ROCK*

I was watching program on TV the other day and was appauled at what humans will do. Pit fighting is one of them, But Horse Fighting?????

Don't get me wrong, because I am totally against animal fighting and the promotion of same, but some groups go a little too far. What is the difference between a horse and a cow? I find the choice of language interesting (slaughter) when describing an end to the consumption of horses. While the eating of dogs, cats and even horses is repugnant to me, it is the norm in many cultures around the world - including our own First Nations peoples of the plains and southwest. Let's keep working to end the most horrible of horribles - pitting one animal against another in staged fights....whether it be a fish, a reptile, bird, dog, or horse.....
