Oh dear, here we go again: Booberry's Immune system is still creating havoc. He is once again anemic - more severely this time around - but still caught in time. (This is why it is so important to see your veterinarian when something is not right with your pet!) He is once again on steroids to lower his immune system response and a special diet to help him regain lost weight. After only one day, we can already see some improvement... Pepper and Ruby, of course, think it's great because those two vultures love the wet food and wait outside the bedroom door for their chance to clean the plate!

Poor little kitty-witty? You're getting as bad as me, Loop! I NEVER talked baby talk to my kids - but do it all the time to my pets! (I guess it's because I don't have to worry about their language development!) Boo must be feeling better today: he spit the pill right back at me......

"Kitty Witty" can sound nothing like baby talk, if said in the correct voice...in fact, the phrase has the ability to make cat's run for cover...trust me....haha :o) Way to go Boo...you spit that pill out....good KITTY WITTY!! :o)

Kitty Witty isn't as witty as his momma: I stuffed that pill right back down his gob! The trick to giving the pill (and keeping all of one's fingers attached) is to coat it in butter. Then, put a dab of butter just under the cat's nose. They can't resist licking off the butter from their nose - and it makes it far easier to open their mouths!

Poor Boo! Today he fell off the sundeck and injured his leg - badly dislocated his knee - and if it doesn't stay in by Monday, he will need surgery to repair it. So far, it has not been staying in at all.... So Boo is back in the bedroom. Gets feeling better and then goes and gets hurt - feels like I'm back to the time when my kids were toddlers!

You guys are too funny, even when you're going through a little kitty crisis, you can 'inject' some humour into the situation. Gintz, I sincerely hope Boo makes a full and speedy recovery, and having been a party to trying to get a Cat to swallow a pill that will help their illness heal, I know exactly how difficult it can be to get them to cooperate. I have the scars to prove it too Hopefully Boo is soon back to his usual self, poor little...now ya got me doing it...

Poor guy just can't catch a break lately! His name is begining to take on a whole new meaning...boo hoo boo!! (all the way to the bank too!!) With halloween approaching, I'd watch him carefully, and whatever you do...DO NOT dress him up as batman, superman, Robin, wonderwoman, or even Count Dracula...there's no telling what he may try if he has a cape on! I hope he feels better soon!

I was thinking more along the lines of Long John Silver........after all, he has the gimpy leg for the part! It looks like they will have to operate on poor little Boo on Wednesday. They will take x-rays tomorrow to make sure that the dislocation is the only damage. With only one vet in town, Mondays are really scary busy at the clinic, so they'll sedate him in the morning to have a good look...

Good Luck Gintz. Poor little Boo hasn't had far to look for his troubles. Hopefully he's handling all this well and will come through it like a trooper. Sending you and him best wishes for his vet visit tomorrow.

The little turnip damaged both knees! They will operate on the worst one tomorrow and see how that heals. Since the other knee is only mildly out, it may or may not need surgery later..... With all the extra food and stuff that we're giving Boo, Pepper is getting really fat! He is such a glutton that he races into the room the moment the door is cracked open (actually, both he and Ruby make a beeline!). So, while Boo is looking quite waifish, the same cannot be said of the other two.....!

Surgery was successful last night (he came out at 5:30) and now it is a waiting game. We phone this morning around 10 to see and can maybe go get him at 5..... Then, to keep him still and quiet....

Aw poor Boo. Glad to see he's recovering at home among his family. What a character. He'll remember this and won't ever want to wear that lampshade again. Guess it's a matter of keeping him out of harm's way and make sure his brothers don't bug him too much.

Someone give the poor guy a blanket...he's so cold his fingers are turning blue! I too am very glad that Boo is home recovering with the people he loves. I'm sure he'll be good as new in a very short time! Boo reminds me of the stuffed Garfield cat my sister had when we were kids....with a lampshade on his head...Garfield had been out over indulging the night before it seemed!

You like the soft paws? Ruby's are purple - Pepper has both red and blue ones on. I'd like to get black for him, but they only make black ones for dogs - drat and double drat! (Actually, the soft paws might have put Boo at a disadvantage when he fell off the deck as he couldn't dig in to regain control - that is, if it was a true fall and not a leap after a bug......) Probably another 6 weeks before the leg is healed, though, so he can still be Long John Silver for Halloween......That, or one of the lurching Zombies from Thriller......
