I just want to see what everyone feeds their dog.
Myself, I used to feed them Blue Buffalo and Royal Canin but they would go through it and just eat the Royal Canin so that what I feed them.

Royal Canin is a really good food so I would stick with that. Another good brand name is Science Diet.
The only thing better would be a veterinary exclusive diet from your local clinic but they do tend to be expensive so it all depends on what your budget is

I had Twister on Solid Gold for almost a year...and I must tell you... I've never in my life smelled anything worse than his farts when he was eating it. I thought it was just in his nature to fart and had resigned myself to looking into purchasing a gas mask...then he unforunately got ill, and the vet changed his diet while in his care and I must say...although he still does fart...it's NO WHERE near the smell it was...haha
He was on MedIcal for gastro intestinal for a bit....farts were better, but still there, and then he found a bucket of nuturo natural choice lamb and rice and a friends (and went to town on the entire bucket)..he still farts, but no where near as often, and although he's still no rose garden, it's much more managable odour now..haha

In the middle of all that, I had him on raw....it ended up for other reason not to be something we could continue...BUT....not one fart was let out the entire time..

ok,I believe I've subjected everyone to enough of my dogs flatulance issues for now!

This just in. Apparently if you put your dogs food up higher it decreases their farts because they aren't inhaling as much air when they are eating!!! Why not give it a try!? I have heard that you should do this for tall dogs to avoid twisted gut, but if itll decrease farts too I am all over it!!!

Poohbear has been getting nutro max large breed. Now transitioning to Go! Natural. Haven't had any weirdness except her poop seems to be like cow patties right now. We'll have to wait and see. This new one is well spoken of from the people I've talked to.

When they were on Innova they had some pretty bad gas. the worst gas i ever smelt was when they were on orijin. the fish and potato stuff only smells bad when they're breathing on you right after they eat. their farts are very minimal now. as they are danes they do eat from a roughly 1 ft raised food dish contraption...lol. i cant see why medium/large dogs would eat off the floor it cant be good for their tummys or their necks and legs. come on...would we wanna eat off the floor???
the main reason they are on a fish formula is because Phoenix was getting red bumps all over and the vet did a skin graph and it wasnt mites or anything so he suggested a fish formula..which has worked wonderfully for both them..

My Chihuahuas are currently on Merrick Wilderness Blend. They were previously on Canidae All Life Stages. My Cocker X is on Medi-Cal Gastro Formula as he has had bouts of pancreatitis over the years and needs a lower fat diet. I work for a vet but don't necessarily push veterinary diets over holistic although I respect the fact that each dog is different and what works for one will not work for another. I'm completely open-minded as to feeding, although you will never catch me feeding Purina Beneful, Pedigree or any of that other garbage.

I am all over Solid Gold right now. The three pooches in my house coats just glistened like never before! and after they eat they come runnign up stairs waggin their tails all excited like!! I think they are trying to tell me something!! I just switched to Over the moon in the Solid Gold line. GRAIN FREE!! highest protien fat combo!! I really need it for my guys because they are sooo active! However if your pooch isn't they might start packing on the pounds with this stuff. The rest of the Solid gold line isn't as high though and comes in a special package to preserve freshness

Also they DON'T use chicken at all!!! All my pooches suffer from the Chicken allergy!! SOLID GOLD really great stuff!!

I went through many different kibbles when Gunnar was a pup. As well as with Isabelle when she joined our family. Both my dogs are now on a raw diet and I have found it is working great for both of them. We buy in bulk so it doesn't really add much to the monthly costs.

Gunnar can have pretty much anything. Whereas Isabelle's stomach can't handle any red meat so she gets herring, chicken or salmon and veggies.

I feed my husky Eukanuba for Sporting breeds since he is very active outdoors and his metabolism is insanely high. Any other food I have tried, he lost weight! This food is excellent for sporting dogs (agility, skijoring, tracking, etc).
On a side note, I work for a vet and we have been seeing a lot of dogs and cats coming in with health problems due to foods that are considered "Holistic". Please keep in mind that in Canada, you do not need to test food if it has the term holistic on the label. Holistic foods aren't recognised by our government. Contact a vet before putting your pet on a potentially harmful food. We know we mean well to give our pets the best but there are a lot of companies out there that just want our money.
