This is sad read this!!!! 15-yr-old Blind and Deaf Dog Kicked To Death We ask that 40-yr-old Frank Aquino who is charged with aggravated animal cruelty, a felony, if convicted be given the maximum penalty of up to two years jail time and a $5,000 fine. A small price to pay for taking life of a defenseless dog. Mr. Aquino is accused of vicously kicking a 15-yr-old, deaf and blind dog, named Roxie to death. Wittnesses say that after Aquino kicked Roxi so hard in the stomach, she rolled several times and then staggeered to a neighboring yard where she died under a tree. This is where her guardians found their beloved friend, whom they had raised since she was a puppy. "To viciously kick a dog is beyond words," said one of them. "She was such a sweet animal. We'd come in the door and her tail would be wagging. Now she is gone, and in such a horrible way." Being deaf and blind, Roxied couldn't hear or see to run from her attacker! That is a sad reflection on our society Angie. I just don't get people who are cruel to pets, animals, kids. It leaves me speechless, when I read of some of the atrocities perpetrated against them. Go hug your fur babies Angie...and you'll feel better. They're here to teach us a better way...no doubt.

That person must have some very serious issues. How can anyone treat a defenceless animal in such a way.

While my pet loving side thinks that this guy should get the maximum penalty, my evil side thinks that he should get the same from a 400 pound football player. Right in the stomach and see how he likes it Of course, "An eye for and eye makes the whole world blind" - Gandhi

Totally agree with that! I'm always telling everyone how much I'd like to see the same thing happen to them as they did to the poor animal.

I wish that could only happen. For someone to be so cruel to an innocent animal, they must have no heart whatsoever!

The guy is obviously sub human, and I'm sure he'll get what he deserves ten fold...I sure hope so...he should be glad he doesn't live in our neighbourhood. In My Humble Opinion.

I am so very sad to hear this, the sentence for people like this should be tougher, to us who love our pets like children it is like kicking one of our children, they would get a longer sentence then wouldn't they?

I truly believe that part of the sentencing should be to work in an animal shelter or such to improve the lives of animals. Sometimes these people have no empathy for others and do not realize the love that can happen. There have been some remarkable transformations in violent offenders when they have been assigned an animal to 'reform' with love - it has reformed them both!

that is right. some of the pens have a program for the prisioners to take cae of a animal, and there has been a 360 turn around. it just might be a thought for future animal owners to do a tes, not just for a day, but a test that is scruntized by professionals. if they have any mean streaks in them what so ever, no animal.

I'm not going to requopte this, because we all know the disgusting story. I see pretty well everyone is unanimous in their reaction. I would give this guy some of the same, but better, becase anyone that attacks a defenseless animal, would probably do the same to a defenseless person, and because to me, cruelty to an animal is the worst thing someone can do. Give me 10 minutes alone with this guy, I promise, he would ber begging for mercy. You know what REALLY infuriates me, is the stupid sentences that are handed to ******** like this. People simply do NOT take animal cruelty seriously. We have to get letter writing and lobbying our various (useless) elected members and push for tougher penalties, here and in other parts of the globe. Don't think that your letter can't make a difference. EVERY time someone stops to write a letter to a politician, make sure you copy it to the press.....if you do, the said politico will actually stop and read it. They hate copies to the press, it sometimes comers back to bite them in the butt. If anyone wants to write a letter, but doesn't quite know what to say, let me know. I'm an acitivist, with a pretty good success ratio, and letter writing is one of my strengths. My heart cries foir that poor dog, and my anger at the culprit burns like a white flame. Weezy

Thanks Angie for letting us know about this. I e mailed my favourite Rock station the other day, the DJ hosting the show, has 2 dogs himself, in his words, he was " Really disturbed " by the events which took place. They have a segment where people are 'nominated' for ' Tool of the Day '. Bro' Jake nominated the guy for ' Tool of the Century ' and you can check out his comments on www.Rock101.com Click on ' Tool of the Day ' I'm sure we all agree with his sentiments.

I was irrate! i saw what he did i walked over and asked how he'd like to be kicked and i slapped his face. No way was i about to back down. someone needed to stand up to this coward!

Sadly,,, not until humans that make up the justice system, put more value on a living creature will things change. The justice system, which is a total joke, does not punish people adequately enough to make them realize or think twice about what they have done or might do to a defenseless creature. I think, companion animals, considered by their owners as family, should have the same life value as a human. They contribute differently to society in their selflessness, loyalty and ability to create joy for those of us who love them. Because they contribute differently than humans do does not make them any less valueable than we are. That should warrent them the same respect as a living creature that we have, but unfortunately the higher powers have put little value on their lives. I think society could learn a lesson from those unvalued creatures that only ask for love and care. Those creatures that never judge, love without question and would die trying to protect us. Dawn

Too bad the people that make the laws don't realize that this type of psychopathic killer that does not respect animal life in all likelyhood has an equal lack of respect for human life. Many studies have shown that people who commit this type of act are far far more likely to commit violent acts against people as well. The punishment should be the same!

Juniper...Well done... I'd have dropped the idiot myself if I'd seen that. Can't stand cruelty to kids or animals. Give yourself a pat on the back.
