Buster is a beautiful male orange tabby cat who had been living on the streets until I took him in. I have been told by my neighbours that his previous owners moved and just left him behind.
This sweet gentil cat cannot stay with me forever because I already have 5 of my own. Buster is full grown, "fixed" good with cats, dogs and children. I am desperatlly searching for new owners for him that will love him and give him a second chance.
This cat is a big baby, he seeks attention from anyone, and would gladly follow home a stranger.
Buster currently lives in Dorval

Good luck in finding Buster a new home - one that is truly forever. How can people be so stupid? We moved many times when I was growing up and NEVER even THOUGHT about LEAVING any member of our family behind! Old Tiger lived in four different communities in British Columbia: Kamloops, Burnaby, Terrace, and finally Queen Charlotte City - no wonder he was so danged easy going!

Buster looks like a beautiful Cat.
I am sure you will be successful in finding this big guy a new loving forever home.
Bless you for helping him.
I suggest printing out some pictures of him on flyers and asking the local Pet stores and Vet clinics if you can post on their noticeboard.
Other than that wherever you see a noticeboard tack one up.
I'm sure you'll get a positive reaction.

Good Luck and keep us posted, and give Buster a cuddle from all of us at Petsmo.

There isn't anyone in Quebec or Northern Ontario that could adopt Buster ? I can't assume where the 200 people that have joined Petsmo in the last 5 days live in the world , but c'mon , anyone ? Just my 2 red pennies. I live in downtown TO so Buster wouldn't be able to get outdoors here. Here's a question for Robbie (or any other admin , or our resident forum mumma Gintz ) - How do you get animals around the country if we can't fly our domestic animals alone anymore (according to the airlines) ?

Problem is, Buster is 'competing' with all those other felines out there in shelters, and much as I hate to say...Pet stores, in finding good loving forever homes.
As far as shipping animals on airlines check with the speicifc airline as i believe the AC embargo only applies to upsatirs in the cabin, I believe they still allow you to ship animals unescorted as cargo.
But, as I said, that is for the individual concerned to check with the airlines concerned.
Pete, I appreciate your heartfelt plea on Buster's behalf, if it was the world the way we want...every Pet would have a loving home to call their own.
Good Luck to you Buster...positive thoughts guys, and again...Thanks.

Robbie your absolutely right , I just checked Air Canada and you can send a pet unaccompanied , I really hope that Buster is no more than a train, plane or automobile trip (nm the pun) away from a new home, good luck lizzy

Actually, you can fly your animals alone still - just not in the baggage compartments of the airlines. They must be booked separately through Air Cargo of most airlines (AirCanada calls it ACLive) - and that includes all live animals. The regulations have been tightened up considerably because of several mishaps in recent years, is all. That, and the political correctness of the Allergy issue - which is just a crock (and we have allergies in our household!)....
That said, it would be incredibly traumatic for Buster to be shipped elsewhere, anyway.....

I am happy to report that I have finally found a home for Buster. He left my home just less than an hour ago. Thank you everyone for your kind words and suggestions. It took awhile and alot of work, but Buster was worth it . And I was surprised to see that many people here in montreal are willing to adopt older cats.

I love you Buster and I'll miss you!

LizzyCat...fantastic...that's great news to read about Buster on a sunny Saturday morning.
Can you tell us the circumstances and let the new owners know to come and keep us posted as to how Buster is doing in his new 'digs'
Well done on helping that beautiful big bundle of love find a new home.
I'm off to have breakfast and give Smudge a cuddle on Buster's behalf
