THIS WEEK • AUGUST 4 - AUGUST 11 The new moon in the sign of Leo this week speaks of fresh starts. As we walk around the zodiac, think about how you and your animal companions are due for a new beginning!
ARIES PETS Has playtime become routine? Engage your Aries pet with new adventures and plenty of fresh air. You can teach an old pet new tricks and this is the week to begin. Initiate high energy activities ... and don’t be afraid to get a little frisky!
TAURUS PETS Is it time to bring a new pet into your home? Consider a rescued dog or cat perhaps, or a companion animal for a pet that is home alone. If a new pet isn’t in the cards - how about a cozy new bed for our luxuriant Taurus friends?
GEMINI PETS Traveling safely with our pets is a serious issue. Collars with current ID tags are a must. Do you keep your dogs belted while driving? Are your cats confined to a carrier? How safe is your Gemini pet as you run around town doing errands or making a trip to the vet? It may be time to enforce some new travel safety rules.
CANCER PETS Does your Cancer pet have a favorite toy or bowl? A preferred sleeping area? Splurge on something new your security-minded companion can claim as his or her own. It’s all about “My Stuff” for Cancers this week.
LEO PETS Do you and your Leo pet look your absolute best? Use the influence of the new moon in the first house to get serious about an exercise regime you will both benefit from. Healthier meals for pets and people add to a picture of energy and vitality.
VIRGO PETS Quiet time is needed. Is your Virgo pet stressed by summer guests? Sulking about because they’ve been left home alone too often? Time spent together walking in the woods or just relaxing together will bring your Virgo pet around.
LIBRA PETS Friendship and socialization are as important for our pets as they are for us. Is there a neighbor or relative who might enjoy a visit from you and your Libra amigo? Socializing your pet is a lifelong process. If you’ve been neglecting that part of your pet’s life, this is the week to start it up again.
SCORPIO PETS Having pets at work lowers stress levels and increases productivity! Any chance your pet could accompany you to work? Maybe it’s time to start working at home ... with your best friend at your side.
SAGITTARIUS PETS Training is where it’s at for Sagittarians under the new moon. Persistence, patience and lots of treats are the key with pets of any age. Training opens up the lines of communication between you and your animal and makes the bond between you even stronger.
CAPRICORN PETS Do you have a plan in place for your pet should you become disabled or predecease them? You can designate care to a friend or relative or make it more formal by talking with your attorney. It’s not the most pleasant topic, but the new moon indicates it’s time to formulate a long term plan for your Capricorn sidekick.
AQUARIUS PETS It had to be you! Think about the unconditional love you get from your Aquarius pet. It’s pretty amazing — they love us no matter what! We’re the cat’s meow, the cream of the crop, the top dog. With the new moon in your Aquarian pet’s house of partnership — work to be deserving of this incredible devotion.
PISCES PETS Stress effects digestion. Take a good look at your sensitive Pisces pet. Do you see bright eyes and a shiny coat or feathers? These delicate souls need to be fed high quality food in a quiet place, away from household commotion. Take care of this need and they will reward you with unselfish devotion.
