 SHIH TZU DESCRIPTION
One of several "lion dogs" originating in China, the Shih Tzu is a favourite among toy dog afficionados due to its friendly and affectionate nature.

 SHIH TZU HISTORY
The Shih Tzu, like the Pekingese, is revered in Buddhism as one of the "little lions" and probably originated in Tibet in the 17th century.


This breed became extremely popular in North America beginning in the 1960s and has continued to be one of the most popular toy dogs.

 SHIH TZU TEMPERMENT
These gentle lap dogs are personable and spunky companions. They are quite playful and affectionate with their families and children.


They are confident small dogs and can be stubborn.
