AMERICAN CURL DESCRIPTION

The American Curl is a recent development, though with their curled ears and incredibly friendly dispositions -- they are quickly becoming favourites among cat lovers.

AMERICAN CURL HISTORY

The American Curl was only first discovered as a new breed in 1981 when two cats were left with a California cat enthusiast. One of these two ran away, though the remaining cat stayed. This cat, named Shulamith, gave birth to a litter. Two of her kittens had the same curled ears as their mother and from these cats, the American Curl was recognized as a new breed.

AMERICAN CURL TEMPERMENT

Unlike most other cat breeds, the American Curl is not aloof around people. They are affectionate without being demanding. They are one of the few breeds that can be taught to play fetch and are extremely well-mannered with children.
