| Around since the 1800’s the Airedale is also known as the “King of Terriers”. Even with its great hunting skills, the “King” has been crossed with dogs like the Otterhound to improve its stealth in the water. Now in the 1900’s, the Airedale is often seen in dog shows strutting its stuff. The physical features of the cross with the otterhound have been slow declining with cross of Irish and Bull terriers. There not too many Airedale left in comparison to before WWI but it’s popularity has not diminished in the slightest. |
